Here we are – outside Daily Grill in the airport in the departure area of one of Los Angeles airports. Two flights behind us and two more to go before we arrive in Funafuti.
The COP16 is over – we got an outcome that we dont fully understand yet. Its consequences on the next negotiations and especially on the next COP in South Africa need more analysis and reflexions. We hope that we will be soon able to give this necessary explanation.
After few days spent in Mexico (Cancun, Tulum and Coba), to debrief and rest with our friends, we took the plane in Cancun to Houston (Texas) and to Los Angeles (California). The journey is quite long, not only because of the flights but also because of the lack of seats available between Fiji and Tuvalu. All the Tuvaluan students studying in Fiji, Australia or New Zealand are going back home at the same time to celebrate Christmas with their family. Consequently, we will exceptionally arrive on a special charter plane in Funafuti on Sunday 19th. And once in Fiji, we will stay for 3 days in Suva, the capital city before taking the Alena 42 of Air Pacific Sun heading North to Tuvalu over the Pacific.
Let the adventure start!
